Man Caught Urinating on National War Memorial

Prime Minister Stephen Harper expressed his disgust upon learning that several men urinated on the National War Memorial on Canada Day.

A veteran snapped photos of the man relieving himself on the Ottawa monument after noticing the problem during Canada Day celebrations last year. The photos have since graced the covers of several newspapers and appeared on several newscasts.

Several ideas have been proposed to prevent such a tragety from ever happening again. One popular one is to stop celebrating Canada Day, which many canadians reacted to in confusion as they had no idea such a holiday had existed.

Retired Major Michael Pilon says most people cheered and laughed when the photos were taken Saturday night, and noted that the defilers were "quite eager to pose."


Veterans are outraged and The Council of Canadian Veterans Against Urinating On Memorials (TCCVAUOM) wants swift justice. The council is expected to hold a meeting later this month to decide on methods on how to best decide proper punishments for memorial violaters.

It is expected that the suspects will be charged with mischief for urinating in public.
